After three years separated – a microchip brings Rocky home
by Ontario SPCA and Humane Society | General Pet Care Happy Tails | June 17, 2019
We can not stress how important it is to microchip your pet!
The Ontario SPCA Barrie Animal Centre recently had the privilege of reuniting Rocky with his owner after three years apart!
Rocky was brought into the animal centre one morning by a member of the public. Judging by the length of his nails, staff estimate he may have been on the street for quite some time. Following their regular intake procedure, Rocky was scanned for a microchip. Sure enough, he had one!
The staff contacted his owner, who lives in Alliston. She arrived that afternoon and was overjoyed to see her buddy, Rocky, who she thought she’d lost forever.
If your pet is not yet microchipped, we strongly encourage you to do so! Contact your veterinarian for more information.
