Meet our July Second Chances Calendar Star – Ace!
by Ontario SPCA and Humane Society | Happy Tails | July 3, 2018
Meet Ace, a very sweet boy surrendered to the Ontario SPCA with a broken leg that required surgery. Ace now has plates and screws in his hind leg, but it hasn’t stopped him from playing and loving life! He will give hugs to anyone who will accept them, and at 5’ 8” that’s a tall order!
Ace’s fur-dad, Michael stopped into the Ontario SPCA when he was looking to adopt a dog. He saw Ace relaxing with the Adoption Coordinators at their desk, recovering from his leg surgery. It was love at first sight, and Michael would stop by and visit Ace every week while he was recovering, until the day he was ready to be adopted. Michael and his family were there first thing to take him home. Michael says, “Our family didn’t choose Ace, Ace chose us.” Ace’s new fur-siblings have loved him since day one and he especially loves playing with his fur-sister Lucy.
